Our Recent Projects
Rural Electrification Project
At TREC, we partner with governments, corporations, and communities to design and deliver innovative, low-carbon energy solutions that drive sustainable development. In collaboration with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), African Development Bank (AfDB), and cooperative societies, TREC is deploying off-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to power shea nut processing in underserved rural settlements such as Kodo and Fahzi in Niger State, Nigeria. These solar systems provide a clean, reliable source of energy for essential equipment including crushers, fryers, millers, and lighting enabling productivity and resilience in areas without access to the national grid.
TREC Launches Solar Power Project to Energize Northern Communities
TREC has embarked on a groundbreaking solar energy project aimed at transforming lives in the northern region of Nigeria. With a focus on off-grid and underserved communities, the initiative is designed to provide clean, reliable, and sustainable electricity to areas that have long struggled with limited access to power. By installing solar mini-grids and standalone systems, TREC is not only addressing energy poverty but also laying the foundation for improved healthcare, education, and economic activities in these rural areas.
This project aligns with TREC’s commitment to driving inclusive development through renewable energy solutions. It empowers local communities, reduces dependence on fossil fuels, and promotes environmental sustainability. Through partnerships with key stakeholders and ongoing community engagement, TREC is lighting up homes, powering small businesses, and creating new opportunities for growth across Northern Nigeria.
Empowering Rural Shea Butter Producers
TREC, in collaboration with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), is spearheading a transformative initiative aimed at electrifying rural communities across Nigeria. This strategic partnership is focused on delivering reliable power solutions to support the operation of Shea nut processing equipment in underserved areas.
The goal is to enhance productivity and modernize the traditional methods of Shea butter extraction, a vital economic activity in many rural communities. By providing sustainable energy sources, the initiative seeks to empower local processors, boost efficiency, reduce manual labor, and increase the quality and quantity of Shea butter produced.
This project not only promises to improve the livelihoods of rural women and entrepreneurs who are the backbone of the Shea industry, but also aligns with broader goals of rural development, energy access, and economic diversification in Nigeria.
Together, TREC and REA are lighting the way toward a more productive, inclusive, and sustainable future for Shea butter processing in Nigeria.
Environmental Commitment
TREC is committed to environmental sustainability by providing clean energy solutions that reduce carbon emissions and promote responsible resource management. We integrate eco-friendly technologies, adhere to strict environmental regulations, and support green development initiatives to ensure a cleaner and more sustainable future. Regulatory Compliance
In response to the increasing demand for a cylinder manufacturing and testing facility, TREC is integrating this critical component into our CNG plant at Omotosho. This initiative aims to enhance industry capacity while creating a strategic investment opportunity in the growing clean energy sector.

To accelerate the adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a cleaner energy alternative, TREC is strategically expanding its CNG refueling stations across key locations in Nigeria. This initiative will enhance accessibility, reduce dependence on conventional fuels, and support the country’s transition to a more sustainable energy future.
