Powering the Future: Latest Updates on Clean Energy & CNG Innovations
TREC Signed an MOU with FEMADEC
TREC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Femadec Group to drive the deployment of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) solutions across 20 universities in Nigeria. As part of its strategic focus, Femadec Energy is prioritizing the development of a CNG plant and is actively seeking a strategic partner for this initiative.
Currently, Femadec has an agreement with the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF) covering 100 CNG buses, 200 tricycles, and 24,000 vehicles—all requiring a steady supply of CNG. To support this vision, Femadec has partnered with TREC (Transitions and Renewable Energy Company Limited), an energy company specializing in CNG infrastructure development. This collaboration aims to establish CNG refueling stations nationwide and enhance distribution networks. Under the agreement, Femadec will serve as the exclusive off-taker of the CNG produced by TREC.
Creation of reliable and cost-effective alternatives to conventional fuels
TREC’s projects offer significant economic benefits by promoting energy security, reducing dependency on imported fuels, and fostering industrial growth. Through the development of local CNG and LNG plants, TREC is creating reliable and cost-effective alternatives to conventional fuels for industries and transportation. This not only helps stabilize fuel prices but also encourages the growth of local supply chains, leading to job creation in construction, logistics, maintenance, and operations. By harnessing Nigeria’s abundant natural gas resources, TREC also reduces capital flight and enhances domestic energy resilience.
Additionally, TREC’s investments in renewable energy such as solar power and hydrogen fuel position Nigeria for long-term economic sustainability. These projects stimulate technological innovation and open new markets for green energy products, especially in off-grid and rural communities. The local assembly of solar panels and energy storage systems promotes industrialization while reducing equipment importation costs. Overall, TREC’s clean energy initiatives contribute to a diversified economy, attract foreign and local investments, and support the government’s goals for inclusive and sustainable development.

CNG Transportation Trucks
At TREC, we are launching a dedicated fleet of CNG transportation trucks to enhance the efficient distribution of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to daughter stations and partner retail stations equipped with CNG receiving facilities.
Our fleet consists of standard truck heads with attached tube-skids, designed for seamless delivery and storage flexibility. In locations without dedicated storage systems, these tube-skids can be deposited at client sites and retrieved once emptied, ensuring a continuous and reliable CNG supply.
TREC is committed to revolutionizing clean energy distribution with safe, efficient, and innovative CNG logistics solutions.
